අනුරාධපුර දිස්ත්රික්කය - කඩවත් ගම මහවැව
ගරු ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මැතිතුමාගේ දැක්ම අනුව යමින් කෘෂිකර්ම, පශු සම්පත්, ඉඩම් හා වාරිමාර්ග අමාත්යාංශයේ ගරු අමාත්ය කේ.ඩී ලාල් කාන්ත මහතාගේ මඟ පෙන්වීම යටතේ ක්රියාත්මක වාරි මහිම අපේ උරුමය වැඩසටහන, එල්ලංගා පද්ධති, කුඩා වැව් ඇතුළත්ව ග්රාමීය කෘෂි වාරි පද්ධති ප්රතිස්ථාපනය තුළින් සමස්ත ග්රාමීය ආර්ථිකය සවි බල ගැන්වීමේ ජාතික වැඩසටහනක් ලෙස ක්රියාත්මක වේ.
මෙම වැඩසටහනට සමගාමීව අනුරාධපුර දිස්ත්රික්කය කේන්ද්ර කරගනිමින් සංවර්ධන කටයුතු සඳහා තෝරාගත් මැදවච්චිය ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාසයේ අංක 60, කඩවත්ගම ග්රාම නිළධාරි වසමට අයත් කඩවත්ගම මහ වැවෙහි වර්තමාන තත්වය නිරීක්ෂණ කටයුතු සඳහා වැඩසටහන් කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සහ දේශපාලන නියෝජිතයින් පසු ගිය දා එක් විය.
1972 වර්ෂයේ සිට කිසිඳු නඩත්තු කටයුත්තක් හෝ කිසිඳු ප්රතිසංස්කරණ කටයුත්තක් සිදු නොවූ මෙම වැවෙන් අක්කර 70කට ආසන්න ප්රමාණයක වගා කටයුතු සිදු කරයි.
Anuradhapura District – Kadawatgama Maha Wewa
The "Wari Mahima – Our Urumaya" programme is being implemented under the vision of Hon. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the guidance of Hon. K. D. Lalkantha, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation. The programme is a national initiative aimed at strengthening the rural economy by restoring rural agricultural irrigation systems, including cascading tank systems (Ellanga systems) and small-scale reservoirs.
As part of this programme, the programme staff and political representatives recently visited Kadawatgama Maha Wewa, located in Grama Niladhari Division No. 60, Kadawatgama, within the Medawachchiya Divisional Secretariat Division of the Anuradhapura District, which has been selected for development activities under the programme. The team inspected the current condition of the reservoir and assessed the requirements for its restoration and development.
The reservoir has not undergone any maintenance or rehabilitation work since 1972. Despite its deteriorated condition, approximately 70 acres of farmland are currently cultivated using water from the reservoir.
