"වාරි මහිම අපේ උරුමය" වැව් ප්රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීමේ කුරුණෑගල දිස්ත්රික් උත්සවය
කෘෂිකර්ම හා පශු සම්පත් නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය නාමල් කරුණාරත්න ඇමතිතුමාගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් කෘෂිකර්ම හා පශු සම්පත් ඉඩම් සහ වාරිමාර්ග අමාත්යාංශය යටතේ ක්රියාත්මක කෙරෙන "වාරි මහිම අපේ උරුමය" වැව් ප්රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීමේ කුරුණෑගල දිස්ත්රික් උත්සවය කෘෂිකර්ම හා පශු සම්පත් නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය නාමල් කරුණාරත්න ඇමතිතුමාගේ හා වයඹ පළාත් ගරු ආණ්ඩුකාරතුමන් ප්රධානත්වයෙන් අද(17) දින පෙරවරුවේ පඩුවස්නුවර රත්මල්ල වැවේ ප්රතිසංස්කරණ කටයුතු ආරම්භ කෙරිණි.
රත්මල්ල වැව රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 325ක මූල්ය පිරිවැයක් සහිතව වාරි මහිම ජාතික වැඩසටහන මගින් මහවැලි උපදේශක කාර්යංශයේ හා පළාත් ගොවිජන සේවා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මගින් ප්රතිසංස්කරණ කටයුතු සිදු කරයි. වැඩසටහනට එක්වෙමින් කෘෂිකර්ම හා පශු සම්පත් නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය නාමල් කරුණාරත්න මහතා මෙසේ සදහන් කළේය.
"වී වගාවේ අස්වැන්න ඉහළ නැංවීම සදහා සාම්ප්රදායික ක්රමවලින් බැහැරව නව තාක්ෂණික ක්රමවේද සමග යාය වැඩසටහන හරහා යාය 500ක් තෝරාගෙන වගා කටයුතු ආරම්භ කර ඇත. මේ වන විට සාම්ප්රදායික අස්වැන්නට වඩා හෙක්ටයාරයකින් වී කිලෝ 2000 පමණ අස්වැන්නක් දක්වා වැඩි කරගෙන තිබෙනවා."
"තවද කුඹුරු පද්ධතිවල ඇති කුඩා ලියදි සංඛ්යාව අඩු කර විශාල ලියදි සකස් කිරීමේ ව්යාපෘතියක් ක්රියාත්මක වනවා. උපකරණ සදහා කාලය අඩු වීම, ඉන්ධන පිරිවැය අඩුවීම, අස්වනු හානිය අවම වීම වැනි වාසි රැසක් මෙමගින් අත්වේ."
"පස් පරීක්ෂාවෙන් පසු සහ පොහොර සහනාධාර විධිමත් කිරීම සදහා පසෙහි අඩංගු පොටෑසියම්, පොස්පරස් සහ නයිට්රජන් වැනි මූලද්රව්ය පරීක්ෂා කිරීම ආරම්භ කර ඇති අතර මේ වන විට පස් සාම්පල විශාල ප්රමාණයක් පරීක්ෂා කර අවසන්ය. බෝගයට සහ පසට ගැලපෙන ලෙස නිර්දේශිත පොහොර භාවිතය මගින් යූරියා, TSP සහ MOP පොහොර වියදම 75% කින් පමණ අඩු කර ගැනීමට හැකි වනවා අතර, එමගින් පස සහ ජලය විනාශ වීම ද වැළකේ. අස්වැන්න දෙගුණ කිරීම හරහා ඒකක නිෂ්පාදන වියදම අඩකින් අඩු කිරීම රජයේ අපේක්ෂාවයි."
මෙම වැඩසටහනට කෘෂිකර්ම සහ පශු සම්පත් නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය නාමල් කරුණාරත්න මහතා, වයඹ පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර තිස්ස වර්ණසූරිය මහතා, කුරුණෑගල දිස්ත්රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රී ගීතා හේරත් මහත්මිය, දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් චන්දන දිසානායක මහතා, පඩුවස්නුවර ප්රාදේශීය සභාවේ සභාපති සංජීව කරුණාසාගර මහතා, පඩුවස්නුවර ප්රාදේශීය සභාවේ උප සභාපතිතුමා හා ප්රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්රීවරුන්, වාරි මහිම ජාතික ව්යාපෘතියේ අධ්යක්ෂතුමා, වාරි මහිම අපේ උරුමය වැඩසටහනේ ජාතික අධ්යක්ෂ ඉංජිනේරු චන්දන එදිරිසූරිය මහතා, වාරි මහිම අපේ උරුමය ජාතික වැඩසටහන් වයඹ පලාත් අධ්යක්ෂ ඉංජිනේරු එස්.කේ. හේවාගම මහතා ඇතුලු රාජ්ය නිළදාරීන් ප්රදේශයේ ගොවි ජනතාව විශාල පිරිසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ.
Kurunegala District Ceremony of the "Wari Mahima – Ape Urumaya" Tank Rehabilitation Programme
Rehabilitation of Rathmalla Tank Commences under the Patronage of Deputy Minister Namal Karunarathna. The Kurunegala District programme of the national "Wari Mahima – Ape Urumaya" Tank Rehabilitation Programme, implemented under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, commenced this morning (17) with the rehabilitation of Rathmalla Tank in Paduwasnuwara.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of Namal Karunarathna, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, and the Governor of the North Western Province.
The rehabilitation of Rathmalla Tank is being carried out under the "Wari Mahima" national programme at a cost of Rs. 32.5 million, with the work being implemented through the Mahaweli Consultancy Bureau and the Provincial Department of Agrarian Development. Addressing the gathering, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Namal Karunarathna stated:
"In order to increase rice yields, we have moved away from traditional farming methods and commenced cultivation through the Yaya Programme, under which 500 cultivation zones have been selected to introduce modern technological methods. At present, we have increased rice yields to approximately 2,000 kilograms per hectare above the traditional yield levels."
"In addition, a project is being implemented to reduce the number of small plots within paddy-field systems and create larger plots. This will provide several benefits, including reducing the time required for machinery operations, lowering fuel costs and minimizing crop losses."
"Following soil testing, we have also commenced testing the levels of elements such as potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen in the soil in order to streamline the provision of fertilizer subsidies. A large number of soil samples have already been tested. By using fertilizers recommended according to the requirements of the crop and the soil, it is possible to reduce expenditure on urea, TSP and MOP fertilizers by approximately 75 percent, while also preventing the degradation of soil and water resources. The government's objective is to halve the unit cost of production by doubling agricultural yields."
