පදවිය ඌරෑව වැවෙහි ප්රතිසංස්කරණ කටයුතු ඇරඹේ
කෘෂිකර්ම, පශු සම්පත්, ඉඩම් හා වාරිමාර්ග අමාත්යංශය යටතේ ක්රියාත්මක "වාරි මහිම අපේ උරුමය" ජාතික වැඩසටහනට සමගාමීව පදවිය ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාසේ අයත් උරෑව වැවෙහි සංවර්ධන කටයුතු අද දින ආරම්භ විය. මේ සඳහා අස්ගිරි පාර්ශවයේ උතුරු නැගෙනහිර දෙපළතේ සංගනායක, ගම්මඩු විහාරස්ථානයේ විහාරාධිපති පූජ්ය සුදම්මනායක ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේ, අරිසිමලෙ ආරණ්ය සේනාසනයේ නිර්මාතෘ, උතුරු නැගෙනහිර දෙපළතේ ප්රධාන සංගනායක පූජ්ය පනාමුරේ තිලකවංශ ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේ ඇතුළුව සමස්ත ලංකා ගොවිජන සම්මේලනයේ සභාපති, කෘෂිකර්ම, පශු සම්පත්, ඉඩම් හා වාරිමාර්ග අමාත්යාංශයේ දිස්ත්රික් සම්බන්ධීකාරක අනුරාධපුර දිස්ත්රික් ප්රාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රි සුසන්ත කුමාර නවරත්න මැතිතුමන්ගෙ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් සිදු කෙරිණි.
මෙම වැඩසටහන යටතේ ඌරෑව වැවෙහි වාන සහ වැව් බැම්ම සකස් කිරීමටත් වැවෙහි සොරොව් දෙක අලුතින්ම ප්රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීමත් සිදු කරයි.
මෙම ක්රියාන්විතය සඳහා පදවිය ප්රාදේශීය සභාවේ සභාපති ප්රදීප් ජයලාල් මැතිතුමන්, පදවිය ප්රාදේශීය සභාවේ මන්ත්රීනි තිළිණි නිසංසලා මහත්මිය, වාරිමහිම අපේ උරුමය ජාතික වැඩසටහනේ ප්රධාන තාක්ෂණික නිළධාරි ඉංජිනේරු වසන්ත පළුගස්වැව මහතා, වාරිමහිම අපේ උරුමය උතුරු සහ උතුරු මැද පළාත් අධ්යක්ෂ කැනේෂියස් සමරසිංහ යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් ඇතුළු නිළධාරීන් සහභාගි විය.
Rehabilitation Work Begins on Padaviya Uraewa Tank
Rehabilitation work on the Uraewa Tank, located within the Padaviya Divisional Secretariat Division, commenced today under the national program "Wari Mahima – Ape Urumaya", implemented under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation.
The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of Hon. Susanta Kumara Navarathna, Member of Parliament for the Anuradhapura District, President of the All Ceylon Farmers' Federation and District Coordinator of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation. Ven. Sudhammanayake Thero, Chief Sanghanayake of the Asgiriya Chapter for the North and East and Chief Incumbent of Gammaduwa Temple, and Ven. Panamure Thilakawansa Thero, founder of Arisimale Aranya Senasanaya and Chief Sanghanayake of the North and East, were also present.
Under the program, the spillway and tank bund of the Uraewa Tank will be rehabilitated, while the two sluice gates will undergo complete reconstruction.
The event was attended by Pradeep Jayalal, Chairman of the Padaviya Pradeshiya Sabha; Thilini Nisansala, Member of the Padaviya Pradeshiya Sabha; Engineer Wasantha Palugaswewa, Chief Technical Officer of the "Wari Mahima – Ape Urumaya" National Program; Canesius Samarasinghe, Director for the Northern and North Central Provinces of the program; and other officials.
