වසර ගණනකට පසු ඔඩ්ඩුසුඩාන් ඔදියමලෙයි වැව ප්රතිසංස්කරණයට පියවර
වාරි මහිමය - අපේ උරුමය වැව් 1000ක් ප්රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීමේ වැඩපිළිවෙල යටතේ මුලතිව් ඔඩ්ඩුසුඩාන්, ඔදියමලෙයි වැව පිළිසකර කිරීමේ කටයුතු පසුගිය දින(ජූලි 20) ආරම්භ කෙරිණි.
වසර ගණනක් පිළිසකර කිරීමට නොහැකිවීම හේතුවෙන් මෙම වැව විනාශවී යාමේ අවධානමකට ලක් වී තිබුණු අතර ගොවිජනතාව විසින් සිදුකළ ඉල්ලීමකට අනුව වැව කඩිනමින් පිළිසකර කිරීම සඳහා අවශ්ය කටයුතු ආරම්භ විය.
කෘෂිකාර්මික ඒකකවල කෘෂිකාර්මික සශ්රීකත්වය සහ ග්රාමීය ආර්ථිකය ප්රවර්ධනය කිරීමේ අරමුණින් මෙම වැඩසටහන ක්රියාත්මක වන අතර මුලතිව් දිස්ත්රික්කයේ වැව් දහයක් ප්රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීම් සිදුකිරීමට නියමිතය.
වැව ප්රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීම තුළින් ගොවිපවුල් 300 අධික පිරිසකට සෘජු සහ වක්ර ප්රතිලාභ ලැබෙන අතර අක්කර 150 අධික ප්රමාණයක් යල මහ කන්න දෙක වගාකිරීමට හැකියාව ලැබේ.

Steps Taken to Restore Oddusuddan Odhiyamalai Tank After Years
Under the "Wari Mahima – Ape Urumaya" programme, which aims to restore 1,000 tanks across the country, restoration work on the Odhiyamalai Tank in Oddusuddan, Mullaitivu, commenced recently, on July 20.
The tank had been at risk of deteriorating due to the inability to carry out restoration work for several years. Following a request made by the farming community, necessary steps were initiated to urgently rehabilitate the tank.
The programme is being implemented with the aim of enhancing agricultural productivity in farming communities and promoting the rural economy. Under the programme, ten tanks in the Mullaitivu District are scheduled to be restored.
The restoration of the tank is expected to provide direct and indirect benefits to more than 300 farming families and enable the cultivation of more than 150 acres during both the Yala and Maha cultivation seasons.
Members of Parliament representing the Vanni District, including S. Thilaganathan, Deputy General Manager of the Mahaweli Authority S. A. G. T. Canisius, and a large number of farmers from the Odhiyamalai area attended the occasion.
